Oak Grove Established 1890
The Oak Grove town site was first platted in 1890 from the original Creighton and Crow donation land claims (DLCs) of the 1840s and 1850s.

Originally named the “Creighton” Post Office with postmaster Thomas Howell. After some confusion with the names “Center Station”, “St. Theresa Station”, and “Oak Grove Station”, the postal authorities settled on the name “Oak Grove Post Office” in 1907 [Oregon Geographic Names by Lewis A. McArthur]
