A log structure that locals called “the little log schoolhouse”, founded by Orville Risley; it was located at today’s River Rd. & Laurelwood Drive. No photos of this structure are extant. This photo is an example of what it might have looked like.

Originally named the “Creighton” Post Office with postmaster Thomas Howell. After some confusion with the names “Center Station”, “St. Theresa Station”, and “Oak Grove Station”, the postal authorities settled on the name “Oak Grove Post Office” in 1907 [Oregon Geographic Names by Lewis A. McArthur]
