Established Nov. 3, 1910 with Lenora D. Miller, first postmaster. The post office name was changed to Jennings Lodge Jan. 6, 1911 [Oregon Geographic Names by Lewis A. McArthur]
Carved out of part of the Roethe farm Covell was platted by Simeon H. Covell & wife, and David N. Smith. The subdivision never incorporated.
Platted by Simeon Covell and David Smith this subdivision was located on land once part of the Roethe farm. It stretched from east of today’s McLoughlin Blvd to River Rd. and overlapped today’s Roethe Rd. Plat dedicated Mar. 23, 1908.
Jennings Lodge School District forms from “Concord” and builds new school.
The First Addition to Jennings Lodge is platted by William B. & Emma Jennings, and John F. & Willa Jennings – sons of Berryman and Martha Jennings. Block 57 is set aside “for school purposes”.
Originally named the “Creighton” Post Office with postmaster Thomas Howell. After some confusion with the names “Center Station”, “St. Theresa Station”, and “Oak Grove Station”, the postal authorities settled on the name “Oak Grove Post Office” in 1907 [Oregon Geographic Names by Lewis A. McArthur]
